Contrarequiallas are female-only warriors who participate in brutal gladiator fights known as the 'Teeth Show' during the Shifting Revel. They fight on a grid of small wooden platforms, spaced wide are enough apart for their opponents, wolf sharks, to leap up through, and are armed with a pike and an double-bladed ax. Less experienced contrarequiallas kill primarily with the pike that makes up one half of the ax; only the most skilled can kill with the blade of the ax, or the pike.
